My patients don’t like the response options. Can we change them?
We cannot change the response options because the Tridiuum1 assessments contain several validated gold standard measures like the PHQ-9 (PHQ-9 Validity) and the GAD-7 (GAD-7 Validity).
Most often we hear patients comment that "none of the questions really answer how I feel." We recommend gently suggesting that they select the answer that is most like how they are feeling.
As the patient becomes more familiar with the questions and responses the anxiety over "picking the right answer" will subside.
It is also important to use the response options provided in the gold standard measure so that you and your work site can compare your patients’ scores to national averages.
